Fellowships are an excellent way to underwrite your MBA experience. Many, as you will see, provide benefits that go far beyond financial assistance.
Remember, the deadlines for applying for many of the fellowship opportunities below come in the middle of the MBA application process--so do not delay. Start exploring your options and applying. And be sure to check directly with each fellowship provider, as their contact information, dates and conditions for application may change.

Robert Toigo Foundation -- the non-profit that "powers" the ready-for-finance website -- is a premier organization supporting the ongoing advancement of exceptional minority business degree students and alumni within the finance industry through scholarships, mentoring, internships and job placement. The Foundation's network of alumni includes 600+ finance professionals. This non-profit is sponsored by major investment banking firms, asset management, real estate investment, private equity and other firms within the finance industry. In order to qualify for the Toigo Fellowship, you must:
1. Be a minority as defined by the Department of Labor.
2. Be a US citizen, or a legal resident with permission to work in the US.
3. Be accepted to and planning to attend one of our educational partner universities in their full time MBA program beginning in the Fall. (Please note that you can not defer a Toigo Fellowship)
4. Be planning a career in the financial industry, including, but not limited to: Investment Management, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Real Estate, Private Equity, Venture Capital, Sales & Trading, Research, or Financial Services Consulting.
5. Complete an application form and pay the application fee.

The Consortium for Graduate Study in Management is a fourteen-university alliance designed to increase the enrollment of African American, Hispanic, and Native American students in MBA programs and ultimately in managerial positions in business. Each candidate who qualifies for admission to a Consortium-member MBA school competes for a full-tuition fellowship at that school.

There are many scholarships available to minority MBA candidates. If you're African American, Hispanic American, or Native American other sources of aid can be found from foundations such as the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) and the National Society of Hispanic MBAs (NSHMBA).
Membership/Association Fellowships
Aerospace Education Foundation / Spouse Scholarship - Air Force, National Guard
Award amount: $2,500
The applicant must be a spouse of Air Force Active Duty, Air National Guard or Air Force Reserve to be eligible. Spouses who are themselves Air Force members, or in ROTC, are not eligible. This scholarship is open for all academic programs. Undergraduate students must be enrolled in the Spring semester with a minimum of 6 credit hours when the scholarship is awarded in May. Graduate and post-graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of 3 credit hours.

Thomas Wood Baldridge Scholarship
Amount:The scholarship is a one-time award of $3,000 sent directly to the recipient's college or university choice.
Deadline: March 1
Available to a Jaycee, immediate family member of a Jaycee, or a descendant of a former Jaycee, and must be enrolled in or accepted for admission to a college or university. Applicant must be a citizen of the United States, possess academic potential and leadership qualities, and show financial need.

Golden Key / Graduate Scholar Awards
Amount: Twelve $10,000 scholarships
Deadline: January 15
For use for post-baccalaureate or professional study at accredited institutions of higher learning (does not have to be in the U.S. or have a Golden Key chapter). Judging criteria include academic merit, campus/community/work commitments and significant involvement in local Golden Key chapter. Recipients must plan to enroll in graduate school in the fall of year received.
Japanese American Citizens League Graduate Awards
Amount: $2,000
Deadline: April 1
Awards given to recognize and encourage education as a key to greater opportunities among JACL members. Applicants must be National JACL members and must be attending a college or university at the graduate level. A personal statement, letter of recommendation, academic performance, work experience, and community involvement will all be considered.

The Little Family Foundation MBA Fellowship Award
Award: Each participating school matches the Little Family Foundation's $2,500 with the resulting award of $5,000 renewable for a second year.
The Little Family Foundation Fellowship Award is set up as a matching gifts program with many of the top business schools in the nation. EThe Fellowship Award is available to past participants - both students and volunteers - of any of Junior Achievement's high school programs and to volunteers who have taught a minimum of two classes of Junior Achievement's K-8 programs.

Roche MBA Fellowship
To be eligible for a Roche MBA Fellowship a candidate must:

Jaycee War Memorial Fund Scholarship Program
Scholarship Amount: $1,000
Deadline: March 1
To be considered for a scholarship, students must be a citizen of the United States, possess academic potential and leadership traits and show financial need. The Jaycee War Memorial Fund gives several scholarships to deserving individuals throughout the nation each year. The awarding of these scholarships is handled through the state Jaycee organizations and a panel of unrelated judges. One applicant from each state is selected by the state organization coordinator. All of the state winners are then reviewed by a second panel of judges who select the national finalists. Scholarship recipients will be selected by May 15.
